We strive to incorporate and achieve a high degree of workmanship through experience, skill and knowledge in Metal Fabrication.

It is Pro Weld’s role to take leadership and pride in our projects by eliminating problems and by designing the end product for best performance.


For the past 28 years, Pro Weld's Master Fabricator, Jim Oberlander, has worked as a professional fabricator often times dealing with technical welding, such as fabricating oil-tight electrical transformers. He moved to Southern Oregon from Arizona in the late 70s, and married his wife, Penny, owner of Pro-Weld, a few months before graduating from Medford Senior High.

Within a few years, the Oberlanders utilized Jim’s fabrication skills to launching their new business Pro Weld, Inc.

Penny and Jim own and operate Pro Weld Inc a steel fabrication shop in White City, Oregon with equipment that includes a 16’ Shear, 12’ CNC Press Brake, 14 ton Boom truck, and Certified Welders and Crane operators. The combination of Experience, Equipment, and Knowledge help tackle the most challenging problems customers can provide, with a shop accumulative experience of over 150 years. Jim enjoys working with the Valleys cream-of-the-crop builders, engineers and architects on projects. The takes leadership and pride in our projects by eliminating problems and by designing the end product for best performance.

In addition to structural steel, Pro Weld has designed and built dragster chases, high-end custom designed railings, commercial barbecue trailers with smoke chamber, fabrication and repair of dump trucks, cranes, moment frames, construction equipment and be even an occasion plow.

“When it’s technical, that’s when we shine, if it can be built, we can build it," says Oberlander "We are very diversified, and can help develop products and we also have a few patents that we are currently taking to the market.”

Jim and Penny are busy building a new company called Iron Horse BBQ, Inc., the designer and builder of a commercial smoker & grill trailer in the design of a locomotive can be viewed at www.ironhorsebbq.com. Their projects include Bear Creek additions, Terpening Terrace Retirement in Eugene, transformers for Areva, Inc. a French owned company, Southern Oregon University and the Lighthouse Church in Medford.

Achieving an annual growth of 15%, a large customer base, great reputation, repeat customers, great employees and state of the art machinery are a few of the components of the success of the company.

Acknowledgments and achievements are; finalists in the 2003 Small Business Development Course through Rogue Community College, winner of the 2004 Austin Family Business Award and American Rental Association New product award.

Pro Weld is active in supporting Southern Oregon, sponsoring and donating to local Colleges, High School Internship programs and Athletic departments, and local Churches.

Pro Weld believes in continuous improvement and is in the Small Business Management Alumni Program though Rogue Community College. Our 14,000 square foot state of the art fabrication shop has allowed them to better educate and facilitate local and national customers and their projects. They aim are to network and facilitate more international jobs.
